Aramark to run concessions in Mets' new stadium

NEW YORK Aramark said it signed a 30-year deal to provide foodservices for the New York Mets' new stadium, which is scheduled to open in April 2009.

Aramark, which has managed the foodservices of the Mets' Shea Stadium since 1995, said it will be the exclusive concessionaire of the new Citi Field, with responsibility for a specialty restaurant, luxury suites and retail stores as well as kiosks and food stands.

In announcing the deal, Aramark said it would incorporate technological advances that cut customers' wait times at concessions, but did not divulge details.

Nor did it disclose what branded restaurant outlets may be included in the facility.

In addition to Shea Stadium, Philadelphia-based Aramark currently manages the foodservices of 15 Major League Baseball stadiums.
