Arby’s pushes value in new ad spot

ATLANTA Arby’s sandwiches do all the talking in a new TV spot targeting budget-conscious consumers with Arby’s Doublers, a deal that consists of two roast beef sandwiches with cheese for $2 or two chicken sandwiches for $3.

The Doublers are being tested in limited markets. The supporting spot, created by MDC Partners’ Fletcher Martin of Atlanta, features two talking sandwiches, with one sandwich mimicking what the other says. The ad is available at www.fletchermartin.com/pr/arbys/arbys_doubler.mov.

The agency also released the ad on YouTube and other websites and said response has been positive.

Point-of-purchase material is supporting the Doublers test.

Triarc Cos., parent of the 3,700-unit Arby’s, last week agreed to acquire Wendy’s International Inc. in a stock swap valued at $2.34 billion.
