BOSTON Au Bon Pain is testing miniature-sized baked goods at six stores in Boston, Chicago and Cleveland, an executive at the bakery-cafe chain said this week.

The smaller pastries are half the size of Au Bon Pain’s regular baked goods. There currently are five items in test, including small muffins, croissants and some of the chain’s most popular items on the menu, said Ed Frechette, senior vice president of marketing.
