LOUISVILLE Ky. A&W All American Food restaurants are giving away root beer floats on Monday in what the chain said is an effort to provide relief to cash-strapped customers.
A&W, owned by Yum! Brands Inc., said all of its 700 U.S. stores are participating in the root beer float giveaway. No purchase will be necessary.
The chain's signature treat is made with its proprietary root beer and soft-serve ice cream.
A&W also said it has introduced an Oreo Fudge Polar Swirl for a limited time. The new item is a blend of Oreo cookie pieces, hot fudge and vanilla soft-serve.
Louisville-based Yum Brands is also the parent of the KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver's brands.
