Bennigan’s extends its Blarney Blast festivities

DALLAS Bennigan’s Grill & Tavern said Friday it has launched its annual Blarney Blast promotion for St. Patrick’s Day and will extend the menu and drink specials into April.

“We’re returning to our roots as a relaxing neighborhood tavern where you can take a break from the daily grind,” said Vince Runco, chief executive of Bennigan’s Franchising Co., which is based here.

In addition, the 113-unit chain, which went through bankruptcy and emerged under new ownership last year, earlier this week introduced several new menu items, including Buffalo Stogies, crispy spring rolls with chicken, buffalo sauce and cheese, served with ranch dressing for dipping; Pot Roast Slammers, three toasted slider-sized buns with pot roast and caramelized onions, served with gravy for dipping; and Kettle-Cooked Ribs, a half-dozen dry-spiced ribs with barbecue sauce.
