Burger King hires new CMO

Burger King Corp on Tuesday. named Natalia Franco executive vice president and global chief marketing officer.

Franco most recently served as vice president for global marketing at The Coca-Cola Co., where she was responsible for McDonald’s marketing, including research and development, consumer insights and operations innovation.

Franco succeeds Russ Klein, who resigned late last year as Burger King’s president for global marketing strategy and innovation.

John W. Chidsey, Burger King’s chairman and chief executive, said in a statement that Franco’s “global perspective and diverse background working for a number of well-known and world-class companies positions her well to help strategically drive the Burger King brand forward.”

Before Coca-Cola, Franco worked for General Mills Inc. in a variety of marketing positions. She also worked with Savoy Brands International in Bogota, Colombia, and with Unilever in Panama and Colombia.

Franco said, “I am confident that my past professional experiences and my consumer-centric marketing approach will further enhance the brand’s perception and awareness and help drive increased guest visits to our restaurants and profitable sales around the world.”

Burger King has more than 12,100 restaurants in the United states and 74 nations.
