Chicago eateries team up for kids' restaurant week

CHICAGO Eighteen upscale restaurants in Chicago and its suburbs will introduce children to fine dining during the city’s first Kids’ Restaurant Week, which will be held June 21-28.

Frontera Grill, May Street Market, Prairie Grass Cafe and Osteria di Tramonto are among the restaurants that will offer meals geared toward children during the event. Gourmet and Cookie magazines are sponsoring the event.

Children 11 and younger will pay their age for their meals. Everyone else accompanied by a child will pay $20.08. Seatings are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The event will kick off Saturday with cooking demonstrations, food sampling and children’s activities at Chicago's Green City Market, which will receive a $1 donation from each meal sold during the week.
