Chinese QSR chain picks NCR terminals

News

BEIJING Dicos Fried Chicken, a home-grown Chinese quick-service chain based here that anticipated ending 2006 with 600 franchised units in operation, ordered 500 RealPOS 20 point-of-sale terminals from NCR Corp., supplier sources indicated.

The terminals were to be installed throughout China as of the end of December, according to NCR, which said it also had a contract to maintain that technology with Dicos parent Ting Hsin International Group of Taiwan.

Shao Xin Mou, vice president of the operations division of Dicos Fried Chicken, said his chain selected Dayton, Ohio-based NCR's terminals because it needed "exceptional price-performance" and dependability from that technology, as well as its "more convenient and efficient operating interface for our staff."

As of late 2006, Dicos operated three regional offices in the Eastern, Western and Northern areas of China, with 10 subsidiaries and 31 operational centers and offices.
