Churro Station signs franchisees for Vegas, Miami

SAN RAFAEL Calif. Latin-theme snack food franchisor Churro Station has sold the franchise rights for Las Vegas and Miami, with the first units scheduled to open next year.

Franchisees Marissa Gutierrez and Maria Herson have purchased the rights to the Las Vegas territory. Mary Messner is the franchisee for Miami. Terms and the number of units planned were not disclosed.

Churro Station, based here, has four franchise locations set to open before the end of the year in Phoenix and in the California cities of Oakland, Anaheim and Santa Ana.

The brand features Mexican-style churros, or twisted fried dough rolled in cinnamon and sugar, as well as thicker “rellenos” versions filled with chocolate, caramel and other flavorings. The menu also includes pastries, sandwiches, tostadas and blended fruit drinks called liquados.
