INDIANAPOLIS Ind. Steak n Shake's chief marketing officer, Steven Schiller, has left the company, a corporate receptionist confirmed on Monday. Schiller is the latest executive to depart the beleaguered 491-unit family-dining chain, following the resignation earlier this month of chief financial officer and interim president Jeffrey A. Blade.
The executive shakeup began after activist shareholder Sardar Biglari in March won a seat on the company’s board in a proxy fight and later was named chairman. Biglari replaced interim chairman Wayne Kelley, who remains interim chief executive and a board member.
Biglari also is chairman of Western Sizzlin Corp. and runs a San Antonio-based hedge fund, called The Lion Fund LP.
