Consultant Lombardi joins Togo's board

SAN JOSE Calif. Hospitality consultant Dennis Lombardi has joined the board of managers of Togo’s Eateries Inc., the sandwich chain's parent said Monday.

Lombardi, who is executive vice president of Columbus, Ohio-based WD Partners, where he heads the firm’s foodservice strategies division.

Lombardi said he was excited to join the Togo’s board because it is “an iconic brand with a long history and I am particularly impressed with its longstanding loyal customer base.”

Operating primarily on the West Coast, San Jose-based Togo’s was founded in 1971 and is known for made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and wraps. All of its 242 units are franchised.

Togo’s was sold in 2007 by previous owner Dunkin’ Brands Inc. to San Francisco-based private-equity firm Mainsail Partners and industry veteran Tony Gioia, a former president of Baskin' Robbins who is now Togo’s chairman and chief executive.
