Disney resort promotes Del Rio to restaurant director

LAKE BUENA VISTA Fla. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has promoted Hermes Del Rio to the position of director of restaurants of the 2,265-room property.

Most recently director of in-room dining and banquet beverage for the resort, Del Rio will now oversee restaurant operations for the Swan and Dolphin’s 17 food and beverage outlets. The resort includes such restaurants as Todd English’s bluezoo, Il Mulino New York Trattoria and Don Shula’s Steak house. He is responsible for 30 managers and 350 staff members, as well as financial aspects of the food and beverage operations.

Del Rio, who joined the resort in 1996, has held several positions at the property, including chief steward and banquet beverage manager. He also is a certified sommelier.
