IRVINE, CALIF. El Pollo Loco has reintroduced BBQ Black Beans in a new version that the chain said contains no saturated or trans fat. —
The beans are available in two new menu items. The BBQ Black Bean Pollo Bowl combines citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken with beans, Spanish rice, onion, cilantro and pico de gallo. The BBQ Black Bean Classic Chicken Burrito consists of beans, chicken, Spanish rice, and jack and Cheddar cheeses in a warm flour tortilla. —
El Pollo Loco, which is based here and has more than 360 units in seven states, also is offering large side dishes for 25 cents through June 3. Customers can buy up to two side dishes for 25 cents each with the purchase of a family meal. —
English and Spanish TV spots in select West Coast markets and point-of-purchase material are supporting the offers. —
