Fast-casual chain tries curbside service

SAN FRANCISCO Borrowing a now-standard amenity of casual dining, the Boudin SF fast-casual chain said it has added curbside delivery service for breakfast and lunch as well as dinner.

The announcement, issued Friday by the San Francisco-based chain, also indicated that Boudin SF is using an automated system to take patrons’ orders. The notice explained that customers listen to a “phone menu” and respond to prompts to make their selections.

The service is offered at all seven Boudin SF locations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the chain said.

Boudin SF has six units in California and one in Illinois, according to the announcement.

The brand is a sister to such concepts as Boudin Bakery & Café and Boudin at the Wharf, a complex that encompasses three restaurants serving distinct market tiers.
