Field goal could yield Papa John’s fan $25,000

LOUISVILLE Ky. Papa John’s International, in celebration of its 25th anniversary next year, will invite one fan to try and kick a 25-yard field goal for a $25,000 prize during the Papajohns.com Bowl on Dec. 29.

The Kick 4 Cash promotion will be held at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., during halftime of the bowl game, which will be played between Rutgers University and North Carolina State.

Fans can register for the promotion by texting the number 25 to 4PAPA (47272) before the game. On game day, all registered would-be kickers will be invited to warm-up outside of the stadium. One fan will be notified after the first quarter via text to prepare to take the field. All other registrants will receive a special offer.

According to Jim Ensign, vice president of marketing for the pizza chain, “Giving one lucky fan a chance to win $25,000 É is a small gesture of appreciation to all of our customers for 25 outstanding years of business.”

Papa John’s, based here, operates or franchises more than 3,000 locations. The company announced last week that founder and chairman John H. Schnatter would serve as interim chief executive following the Dec. 30 resignation of Nigel Travis, who has held the roles of president and CEO since 2005.
