Friday's makes Right Portion, Right Price menu permanent

CARROLLTON Texas T.G.I. Friday's said it has made its Right Portion, Right Price menu permanent, a year after the casual-dining chain introduced the line of smaller, lower-priced items.

Friday's also said it added two entrees and returned a popular favorite to the menu, which features dishes priced between $5.99 and $9.99. The new items are a 6-ounce Petite Sirloin, which is served with white cheddar-jalapeno macaroni and cheese, and Roasted Red Pepper Sausage & Chicken Penne. Back on the menu is the Strawberry Fields Salad, which is made with chicken, mixed field greens and glazed pecans tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with balsamic-marinated strawberries and shaved Parmesan.

The Right Portion, Right Prices menu also includes low-fat and low-carbohydrate options.

“Providing value and choices is our business," said Richard Snead, president and chief executive of Friday's parent company, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. "T.G.I. Friday's was the first to take a broad position on portion size and it's a leadership position we won't relinquish.”

Carlson Restaurants, based here, operates or franchises more than 1,000 Friday's units, including more than 600 in the United States. The company also is parent to the 125-unit Pick Up Stix fast-casual Asian chain.
