Great Steak & Potato debuts Philly Mac & Cheesesteak

SCOTTSDALE Ariz. The Great Steak & Potato Co., a 200-unit chain owned by Kahala Corp., said this week it is combining two consumer favorites into one sandwich: the Philly Mac & Cheesesteak.

Substituting macaroni and cheese for the plain cheese typically found in a cheese steak sandwich, the Philly Mac & Cheesesteak will be available March 29 through Oct. 10, the company said. Prices, which may vary by region, are set at $5.10 for a 7-inch sandwich or $7.99 for a 12-inch version.

In addition to the new sandwich, guests can order a side of Mac & Cheese or use it as a topping on a baked potato.

Maggie Fearnow, marketing director of Great Steak, said the basic cheesesteak’s “recipe and ingredients serve as a delicious foundation for innovation, making it easy to develop new menu items that will entice and excite our loyal guests.”

Great Steak also recently unveiled new brand logos, store murals, packaging, menu boards and a website. The brand has been part of Kahala since 2004.
