Jack in the Box adds $2.99 breakfast burrito, new potato side

SAN DIEGO Jack in the Box chain has expanded its breakfast menu with the addition of a Sirloin Steak and Egg Burrito and a new side dish of hash brown sticks.

The new burrito consists of a 10-inch flour tortilla with strips of 100-percent sirloin steak, scrambled eggs, hash brown sticks, shredded cheddar and pepper jack cheeses and chipotle sauce, served with salsa.  The burrito will be sold at all participating Jack in the Box locations at a suggested price of $2.99.

The new hash brown sticks are priced at 99 cents for a serving of five. They replace the hash browns that had been the chain's standard breakfast side dish since 1979.

Jack in the Box Inc. and its franchisees operate 2,100 quick-service restaurants. The company, based here, also operates and franchises Qdoba Mexican Grill, which has more than 370 restaurants in 39 states.
