The latest chefs on the move

A look at recent job changes from chefs across the nation:

Fine-dining Greek restaurant Dio Deka in Los Gatos, Calif., has named Marty Cattaneo its new executive chef. Cattaneo was sous chef at Manresa in San Francisco from 2006 through 2008 and then chef de cuisine at Ubuntu in Napa, Calif. Most recently, Cattaneo worked with Mourad Lahlou, executive chef of Aziza in San Francisco, on developing a Moroccan-inspired cookbook. He was also Lahlou’s sous chef on “Iron Chef America.”

Nate Garyantes, a former chef at Minibar, José Andrés’ six-seat experimental restaurant-within-a-restaurant at Café Atlantico in Washingon, D.C., has been named executive chef at Ardeo+Bardeo, also in that city. Garyantes is the former chef-owner of Restaurant 821 in Wilmington, Del., which he bought from Tobias Lawry after working as his chef de cuisine there. He is also an Army veteran.

Aaron Deal, former executive chef of Custom House in Chicago, has moved to Boston to be chef de cuisine under Tony Maws of Craigie on Main. Deal, who previously was executive chef of Tristan in Charleston, S.C., spent the fall working at Townhouse in Chilhowie, Va.
