Little Caesars names Dana Tilley VP of R&D

Little Caesars Pizza appointed Dana M. Tilley to the position of vice president of research, development and innovation, the company said Wednesday.

In her new position with the Detroit-based pizza chain, Tilley will oversee research and development and concept innovations, including the testing of new products, recipes, packaging and equipment.

She reports to president and chief executive David Scrivano.

“Dana will be an excellent asset to Little Caesars as we continue to grow and innovate in all aspects of our business,” Scrivano said in a statement. “Her strong background in product innovation and quality assurance makes her a perfect fit for this position.”

Tilley, who has more than 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry, most recently served as director of foodservice quality assurance at the Cary, N.C.-based convenience store chain, The Pantry. Prior to that she was the vice president of innovation at Chili’s. She also held positions with Papa John’s, Chi-Chi’s and Domino’s Pizza.

“Little Caesars is the value leader,” Tilley said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to building upon its strong heritage to help enhance our customers’ experience with the brand.”

Little Caesars Pizza was founded in 1959 in Garden City, Mich. It had 3,213 units at the end of 2010, according to NRN’s Top 200 census of chains and companies.
