DALLAS Texadelphia franchisee Tom Landis is encouraging good manners at his two area locations with a new promotion that allows children under the age of 12 to eat for free if they say “please” or “por favor” when ordering.
“I’m not really big on manners for the sake of formality,” Landis said. “But in this economy, we’re all affected, so if we can give [customers] something for free,” that’s positive, he said.
Children’s meals are already half the price of adult meals at Landis’s restaurants. The free offer is for meals ordered at the fast-casual sandwich chain after 4 p.m. and is limited to one child per adult meal purchased.
Many children hide behind their parents when they come to the counter, Landis said. He’s hoping the offer will help teach children how to order for themselves.
“And maybe I can do my part to help the next generation of Dallas eaters be a little more polite,” he said.
Based in Dallas, Texadelphia, the Original Texas Cheesesteak, has 19 locations in Texas and Oklahoma.
