Naval Academy sails into relationship with online ordering vendor

News

ANNAPOLIS Md. Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy here soon will be able to order meals from two on-campus eateries through the school's intranet under an agreement with online ordering and call center technologies specialist Delphis Software.

Delphis was selected for the contract, in part, because of its "experienced staff" and "expert approach to business," according to Doc Miles of the academy's business services division.

Representatives of Fresno, Calif.-based Delphis said the company will customize its product to work with the Academy's intranet in an effort to reduce the number of phone calls to the on-campus restaurants, eliminate order transcription errors and speed up ordering. They said the AROS system will allow for menu browsing, item selection and subsequent order transmission to specialized standalone, high-throughput point-of-of-sale systems in each restaurant.
