Papa John's to offer whole-wheat crust

LOUISVILLE Ky. Papa John's reportedly is rolling out its whole-wheat pizza crust nationally.

Papa John's told Reuters on Wednesday that the new wheat crust option would be available at its 2,700 domestic stores on May 26. The chain added that it would not charge extra for the crust.

In addition, Papa John's will offer whole-wheat breadsticks, according to its website.

Rival Pizza Hut said earlier this week that it would introduce an "all-natural" pizza with a multigrain crust sometime next year. The pizza is in tests in the Seattle, Denver and Dallas markets, the chain said.
