Shari's switches to all-Angus-beef burgers

BEAVERTON Ore. Shari’s Family Restaurants, operator of the 98-unit northwestern family restaurant chain, said it has switched to the exclusive use of Angus beef for its burgers.

The chain, based here, serves the handformed-style patties on a cornmeal-dusted bun that Shari’s calls “an all-natural product.” The burgers can be ordered with one or two patties.

Shari’s is also offering two new burger choices as part of the reintroduction of its burger line. The Wild West Angus Burger is garnished with onion rings, bacon, cheddar cheese and barbecue sauce. The Philly Steak Angus Burger comes with thinly sliced steak, grilled onions, mushrooms and provolone cheese.

Every burger is brought to the table with a caddy of popular condiments, including Shari’s New Burger/Fry Sauce 66, which the company calls a “classic blend of sauce reminiscent of burger toppings from days gone by.” The sauce is meant to be used as a spread on burgers and as a dipping sauce for fries.

Shari’s restaurants are located in Oregon, Washington, California, Wyoming, Idaho and Nebraska.
