Subway names new directors of ops, training

Subway has named Joe Chaves its director of operations and Rebecca Audet director of worldwide training for the chain, which franchises more than 35,500 quick-service restaurants across the world.

Chaves has been with Subway for five years and has worked in quick service for 28 years, according to Milford, Conn.-based Subway. His operations experience includes serving as a franchisee for Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins.

Audet also has operational experience. She is a franchisee of two Subway locations in Vermont and also oversees the more than 1,000 company-owned Subway units worldwide. She will retain that title while assuming her new responsibilities, which include overseeing 13 global training centers, an e-leaning program, and the education and training of line workers, managers, franchisees, field consultants, and development agents.

Chaves, a native of Rhode Island, has worked in recent years to expand Subway’s catering capabilities and improve customer service, as well as operations and profitability, the company said.

"Subway is doing extremely well, especially considering the current global economy. It continues to be a remarkably good investment for our existing and future franchisees,” Chaves said in a press release.

“I am looking forward to supporting all of our partners by building on the brand's great track record," he said.
