Subway selects ParTech as provider of in-store point-of-sale terminals

MILFORD Conn. Subway, the 30,700-plus-unit sandwich giant based here, has chosen ParTech Inc., as its supplier of in-store hardware point-of-sale terminals. —

ParTech, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of PAR Technology Corp. based in New Hartford, N.Y., also will provide deployment and life cycle support services. —

After evaluating the products of a number of vendors, Subway chose PAR’s EverServ POS hardware for the chain’s next generation in-store hardware platform. The hardware provides high performance with powerful processors for better graphics and increased speed of service, the company said. —

The equipment also contains energy-saving features that boast a low total cost of ownership and extended product life span. —

“During our detailed evaluation and selection process PAR exceeded our rigorous requirements through their POS technology expertise and experience,” said Thys Van Hout, Subway’s chief technology officer. “PAR’s open, flexible technology and robust functionality makes it easier to integrate within our restaurants in a way that is seamless to our in-store operations.” —

Ed Soladay, president of ParTech, said Subway’s “foresight concerning their restaurant business, especially when it comes to leveraging technology to energize new business strategies, is second to none. PAR’s technology, market reputation and international capabilities for deployment and life cycle support resonated with Subway as they made their next-generation technology decision.” —
