Super Mex promotes Kishi to CEO

LONG BEACH Calif. Steve Kishi has been promoted to chief executive of Super Mex Restaurants Inc. and franchising arm Super Mex Franchise Corp., officials said Friday.

Kishi has served as chief operating officer of Super Mex since 2006. Previously, he was the vice president of franchise development and international for CKE Restaurants Inc., parent of the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s brands.

The family-owned Super Mex chain includes 15 Mexican restaurants throughout the Southwest, including seven company-owned units, six franchised locations, and two licensed units in Las Vegas. Most Super Mex restaurants are full service, but Kishi has led the development of a fast-casual variant, which debuted last year in Riverside, Calif.

“Steve’s enthusiasm, dedication and knowledge of our brand have played an integral part in Super Mex’s growth,” said Ted Orozco, Super Mex chairman. “Through his leadership, we will continue to pursue our goals of franchise growth and providing the highest quality of authentic Mexican food, with exceptional customer service.”
