T.G.I. Friday’s offers Cooper-approved menu as tie-in with Dallas marathon

CARROLLTON Texas T.G.I. Friday’s is setting the training table for marathon runners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Friday’s, the division of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide here, has started offering a special menu recommended by the nutrition department at the Cooper Clinic, a Texas facility that stresses ways of preventing disease. The promotion is part of Friday’s sponsorship of Wellstone's Dallas White Rock Marathon, which will take place Dec. 9.

The special nine-entree menu will be available at 53 restaurants in North Texas and Oklahoma, excluding airport locations, through the day of the marathon.

The "Cooper Approved" marathon-branded options include Zen Chicken Potstickers and Bruschetta Chicken Pasta.

“Wellstone's Dallas White Rock Marathon is an outstanding community event that provides for a terrific cause,” said Mike Archer, president and chief operating officer of T.G.I. Friday's USA. “Whether you're training for 'The Rock,' cheering on the participants or volunteering at the event, Friday's has something you'll love."

The White Rock Marathon was founded in 1971 by Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper, founder of the Cooper Clinic, and Pearl Harbor survivor Tal Morrison. It benefits the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
