Tossed names new ops VP

FORT LAUDERDALE Fla. Tossed Franchise Corp., parent of the made-to-order salad concept, said it has hired Stir Crazy veteran Eric Clark to serve as vice president of operations.

Clark most recently managed the multiunit operations of the 12-unit Stir Crazy chain. Before that, he worked for 12 years with The Cheesecake Factory.

Tossed said Clark would help the company as it works toward growing to 200 units over the next five years.

“Eric is the type of individual we seek at Tossed because he possesses the experience, energy and leadership ability to aid in our next phase of growth,” said Eric Schmitt, Tossed’s president and chief executive. “In addition to his operational knowledge, Eric’s expertise in training, marketing, customer service, and food and beverage management will allow him to interface with all departments at Tossed to ensure a cohesive team environment and the future success of our company.”

Tossed opened its first restaurant in 1998 in New York City. Now based in Fort Lauderdale, the company said it has 13 units open and 64 others in various stages of development. Four of those units are expected to open before September.
