Fast Company co-founder to headline MUFSO

William Taylor

William C. Taylor, co-founder of Fast Company magazine and author of several influential business books, including the recently released “Practically Radical: Not-So-Crazy Ways to Transform Your Company, Shake Up Your Industry, and Challenge Yourself,” will deliver the keynote speech at this year’s Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators Conference.

Taylor, who is also author of the New York Times Best Seller “Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win,” has built his career on bucking conventional wisdom and looking for opportunities beyond the obvious — ideas that are in sync with this year’s MUFSO theme, “Where Do We Grow From Here?”

MUFSO will be held Sept. 25-27 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

“We are excited to have Bill Taylor share with the MUFSO audience concrete ways that restaurant companies can innovate and stay ahead of the competition,” said Randall Friedman, publisher of Nation’s Restaurant News. “Bill’s findings from his new book, which looks at 25 organizations making deep-seated changes
under trying circumstances, will provide restaurant operators with the fuel to rethink how they lead, work and get results.”

In ‘Practically Radical,’ Taylor shares insights from progressive leaders about how they identify opportunities before their competition, where they look for new ideas and how they get the best contributions from the most people — especially during turbulent times.

As co-founder and founding editor of Fast Company, Taylor proved his own business acumen. The magazine won many awards and drew a passionate following of executives and entrepreneurs. In less than six years, Fast Company was sold for $340 million.

Taylor is a graduate of Princeton University and the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Now in its 52nd year, MUFSO is the leading educational and networking conference for the restaurant industry’s best minds. Through dynamic keynote speakers, workshop sessions, award presentations and social gatherings, MUFSO offers executives numerous opportunities to exchange ideas and best practices as they seek to grow their businesses and prosper in today’s economic environment.
