Papa John's 3Q profit rises 9.6%

Revenue, same-store sales also increased during the quarter

Papa John’s International Inc. reported a 9.6-percent increase in profit Tuesday for the third quarter ended Sept. 29. The Louisville, Ky.-based pizza operator said both North American and international units showed sales gains over last year. The company owns and franchises 4,296 restaurants in the United States and 35 nations.
 

NET INCOME

Result: $14.3 million, or 65 cents per share
% Increase: 9.6% (from $13 million, or 55 cents per share)

REVENUE

Result: $346.3 million
% Increase: 6.4% (from $325.5 million)

SAME-STORE SALES

% Increase at North American units: 1.8%


% Increase at international units: 8.1%
