MIAMI Burger King Corp. has appointed a 33-year company veteran to oversee the chain’s restaurant development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Armando Jacomino, who started out as a Miami restaurant crewmember in 1970, was elevated to president of the Latin America region, with responsibility for further expansion into Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
Jacomino will also oversee the adoption of the company's global operational platform within the chain’s Latin American region, as well as the rollout of new premium and value-priced products. Jacomino reports to Burger King Corp.'s chief executive officer, John Chidsey.
"Strong franchisee relationships are a hallmark of the Latin America region and Armando is well positioned to maintain these vital connections," Chidsey said in a statement. Most recently, Jacomino served as vice president of operations, training and Mexico development for the Latin America region. Jacomino is a graduate of Miami-Dade College.
Jacomino replaces Julio Ramirez, who was promoted to executive vice president, global operations.
