Dave & Buster’s names Dolf Berle president

Dave & Buster's Inc. has named Dolf Berle president and chief operating officer, the company said Wednesday.

Berle succeeds Starlette Johnson, who left the 57-unit restaurant-entertainment company in October.

Berle most recently was executive vice president of hospitality for ClubCorp USA, the private club operator based in Dallas, where Dave & Buster’s also has its headquarters. Prior to ClubCorp, Berle was president of Lucky Strike Entertainment LLC, an upscale
bowling concept. He also had served as chief operating officer of House of Blues
 Entertainment Inc.

“The strong blend of food, beverage and entertainment brands that Dolf has
helped lead and grow makes him a perfect fit for our business,” said Steve King, chief executive of Dave & Buster's

Tyler Wolfram, chairman of Dave & Buster's and partner at parent Oak Hill Capital Partners, added that Berle’s “track record of leadership and expertise in the entertainment and food and beverage industries will be invaluable” to the company.

Oak Hill Capital Partners and Dave & Buster’s management acquired the company in May 2010.

For the most recent third quarter ended Oct. 31, Dave & Buster’s reported that revenues were down 0.5 percent, to $116.6 million, from $117.2 million in the prior-year quarter. Same-store sales were down 1.3 percent in the period, and the company experienced a loss of $2.3 million in revenue associated with the closing of its Nashville, Tenn., store because of last year’s floods.
