OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s Corp., based here, promoted Dan Gorsky to senior vice president of North America supply chain management with responsibility for leading $10 billion in sourcing and purchasing operations for 15,000 restaurants in the United States and Canada.
Gorsky’s promotion reflects a title change in keeping with the duties he inherited in June when he was named vice president of North America supply chain, succeeding J.C. Gonzalez-Mendez, who was named president of the 1,600-restaurant Latin America division. Prior to that appointment, Gonzalez-Mendez was senior vice president and chief supply chain officer.
In his position, Gorsky, a 15-year McDonald’s veteran, is responsible for the company’s food safety and quality assurance, supply chain sustainability, new product commercialization, risk management and sourcing supply for existing as well as new menu items, said McDonald’s representatives.
