Papa John’s suspends franchise fee for certain markets

LOUISVILLE Ky. Papa John’s is dropping its franchise fee for a limited time in certain markets, the company’s website said.

According to the website, the deal applies to California, Connecticut and New Jersey, along with the designated marketing areas of Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and Albany and Buffalo, N.Y.

No time frame for the offer is listed on the website, and chain executives could not be reached for comment. The initial franchise fee is usually $25,000 per restaurant.

Papa John’s is advertising the offer in radio spots in some of the targeted markets.

The company, based here, operates or franchises some 3,000 restaurants in 49 states and 22 countries.
