Ruby Tuesday announces Guam Expansion

MARYVILLE Tenn. Ruby Tuesday Inc., the casual-dining chain that has more than 900 restaurants in 43 states and 15 countries, is adding Guam to its sphere of locations.

RT Restaurants LLC, a franchise company owned by veteran restaurateurs Ron Mullers and Ted Davenport, will open the first Ruby Tuesday in Guam later this year.

Mullers, a developer of Papa Ron's Pizza restaurants, has been a restaurant franchisee in Indonesia for more than 25 years. Davenport, the current franchisee of Ruby Tuesdays in Hawaii, is also a Ruby Tuesday franchisee in Southern California.

The new Guam unit will increase Ruby Tuesday's exposure in Asian and Japan, as the Pacific island receives more than million tourist visits a year, said Mark Ingram, president of franchising for the Maryville, Tenn.-based chain.
