BUFFALO, N.Y. — Rich Products Corp. has launched its new website, www.richsfoodservice.com. The site features recipe and menu solutions, product information, training materials and segment-specific insights for restaurants, schools and colleges. Areas include a Culinary Center, which features recipes and ideas for the back of the house; Products, which allows a search by food category, keyword or product code; and Segments, which offers ideas on how to reduce waste, increase menu variety and address consumers’ desire for more portable foods.

CINCINNATI — Dawn Professional, which features foodservice cleaning solutions, has launched the “Make Your Restaurant Shine” contest. One U.S. restaurant will receive $20,000 toward business improvements, a one-on-one consultation with restaurateur and “Top Chef” star Spike Mendelsohn, and a paid trip for four to the National Restaurant Show in Chicago. Restaurateurs can enter online through April 12 at www.DawnCelebrations.com.

TROY, Ohio — Hobart Center for Foodservice Sustainability will award a $5,000 grant to an individual or company judged to have the best-executed foodservice or food retail sustainability project of the year. Submissions for the contest, which is now in its fourth year, are being accepted now and the recipient will be announced at the 2010 Greenbuild expo slated to run Nov. 16-19 in Chicago. TAFTVILLE, Conn. — The PSNE Group, an online retailer of specialty footwear, has launch a new website, www.ChefShoes.com. The site features thousands of shoes designed particularly for culinary professionals. It showcases footwear that include reinforced toes, slip resistant soles and extra comfort footbeds, and carries such brands as Birkenstock, Dansko, Klogs and Alpro.

CLEVELAND — Kold-Draft, a manufacturer of high-performance ice machines, donated a 560 Series Classic Ice Cuber to supply some 500 pounds of ice for two hours of cocktail-making demonstrations at the “Science of Cocktails” fundraising event. The event took place at the Exploratorium at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The museum raised more than $80,000 to support educational efforts for children and adults.

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill said it is introducing new bottled beverage options to its more than 195 restaurants across the United States. The fast-casual brand will now offer such bottled beverage selections as Fuze, Vitamin Water and Snapple Iced Tea in addition to found soft drinks, bottled water and a variety of beers.

SMYRNA, Tenn. — Franke Foodservice Systems, Inc., which specializes in innovative facility and equipment solutions for quick-service chains, named Jeff Cook executive vice president, Business Innovation. Cook, who most recently was senior director of engineering and sustainability for Burger King Corp., will direct research and development, global engineering and business development.
