McDonald's updated Happy Meal includes Go-Gurt yogurt.
E. coli outbreak traced to restaurant burgers (The Oregonian)
About 1.8 million pounds of ground beef from Wolverine Packing Co. in Detroit was recalled Monday after health officials identified 11 people who had become sick after eating restaurant burgers in Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. Six of the victims have been hospitalized. The restaurants were not identified.

McDonald’s adds yogurt option to Happy Meals (USA Today)
McDonald’s announced this week a new option for its Happy Meal: a 50-calorie serving of Go-Gurt strawberry yogurt. Its kids’ meal still features a small portion of French fries as the default side item, with Go-Gurt or apple slices now the option for a second side. Previous changes to the Happy Meal also include offering low-fat milk, juice or water instead of soda as a default beverage. McDonald’s also unveiled a new mascot for the kids’ meal, Happy, an animated Happy Meal box with eyes and teeth.

Chipotle asks customers to leave assault rifles at home (Washington Post)
Chipotle Mexican Grill on Monday asked customers who are not law enforcement officers to leave their guns at home. The statement was issued after gun rights activists brought military-style assault rifles into a Chipotle restaurant in Dallas.

McDonald's redesigns its fry boxes for World Cup (CMO Today/The Wall Street Journal)
McDonald's is redesigning its signature red french fry boxes in celebration of the World Cup, which starts in Brazil next month. The design is part of an attempt to engage with Millennials, many of whom are avid soccer fans, so the redesign also has an interactive social media component.
