HEATHROW, Fla. After a two-year delay from Hurricane Katrina, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Inc. opened its 107th restaurant this weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The steakhouse was originally scheduled to open just two days before Hurricane Katrina devastated the entire region. The company said the new restaurant symbolizes the 22-month effort by the community of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to rebuild the area.
Earlier this year, Ruth’s Chris chairman and chief executive Craig Miller said the company planned to add 15 to 17 restaurants this year, after opening its 100th restaurant in December.
The Biloxi location seats 223 guests, and features the chain’s "luxury lounge" concept-within-a-concept, where patrons can have a more casual experience.
