EMERYVILLE Calif. Jamba Juice will soon introduce several hot beverages, including blended chai lattes and whole-leaf tea.
The hot drinks will debut March 1 in 340 stores in California, New York, Florida, Texas and other markets. The 742-unit chain said it also would introduce a new smoothie called the Chill-icious Chai and additional baked goods.
Jamba's new Hot Blends drinks will include three chai lattes -- Original Spiced Chai Tea, Perfectly Chocolate Chai Tea and Heavenly Green Tea -- and a Classic Hot Chocolate aimed at kids. In addition, the chain will feature six varieties of Mighty Leaf full-leaf tea pouches.
"We've been listening to our customers, and we know they wanted great tasting, better-for-you hot drinks," said James D. White, president and CEO of Jamba Inc. "Our new hot beverages are an excellent complement to our existing portfolio of products and give customers a hot drink option suitable for any time of day."
Over the past year, Jamba has diversified its menu offerings in the face of slowing sales. Last year, the chain introduced a new food program that included oatmeal, pizza-like flatbreads, and grab-and-go sandwiches and salads.
