NRN to hold pre-MUFSO Tweet Chat Sept. 20

Ahead of MUFSO, participants can interact with NRN editors and conference presenters to get the conversation going on the hot topic of social media

Nation’s Restaurant News will hold a live chat on Twitter at 3 p.m. EST/12:00 p.m. PST on Sept. 20, in advance of the 2012 MUFSO conference, which will take place in Dallas Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

The real-time online conversation will be led by Nation’s Restaurant News Southwest bureau chief, Dallas native and social media savant Ron Ruggless (@Ron Ruggless). MUFSO panelists Dan Kim (@DanKimRedMango), founder and COO of Red Mango; Don Fox (@DonMFox), CEO of Firehouse Subs; and Matt Olsen (@matt_olsen), digital marketing manager for Firehouse Subs, will also be among the participants in the one-hour Tweet Chat.

This Tweet Chat encourages participants to interact with NRN editors and MUFSO presenters to get the conversation going on social media, one of the many hot issues that will be addressed at MUFSO. The chat will kick off with the following questions:

Q1: How do restaurants measure ROI for social media efforts?

Q2: Why should restaurant C-level execs tweet (or not)?

Q3: What newer social media platforms are on the horizon for restaurants?

To join the conversation, Twitter users should use the #MUFSO hashtag and follow the stream, sending comments and questions to @RonRuggless. The conversation will begin at 3 p.m. EST.

In its 53rd year, MUFSO brings together restaurant industry executives and leaders for a wide-ranging conference that taps the pulse of the industry. The newly expanded MUFSO Super Show will combine all four of the Penton Restaurant Group’s events — MUFSO, Menu Trends & Directions, WISE and FM Ideas — into one event, making this gathering for foodservice leaders an unmatched educational and networking experience.
