In an effort to differentiate itself from its competitors in the quick-service segment, Wendy's introduced a line of Flatbread Grilled Chicken sandwiches. The limited-time offer was available in two varieties: Asiago Ranch and Smoky Honey Mustard.

Nation’s Restaurant News kicked off 2013 with its NRN 50 special report, highlighting 50 restaurant brands poised to make a big splash during the year. The 50 breakout brands ranged from the much-buzzed-about Los Angeles-based Umami Burger to concepts focusing on, among other things, ice cream, healthful menus and grilled cheeses.
