Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza names first CFO

Allen Arroyo will serve in newly created position

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza has appointed Allen Arroyo to the newly created position of chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Arroyo served most recently as CFO for Z’Tejas for about two and a half years. Prior to that, he was CFO for the Mastro’s Restaurants steakhouse chain for about four years. He served in multiple financial roles at IHOP Corp. during an 18-year tenure there.

“The addition of Allen to our team underscores our emphasis on assembling a best-in-class headquarter staff. Allen has a proven track record with established national brands and we’re thrilled to have him on board as Blaze Pizza expands across the country,” Blaze president Jim Mizes said in a statement.

The Pasadena, Calif.-based fast-casual chain has 11 locations and is aggressively franchising, with 230 units in the development pipeline. Blaze was founded by Rick Wetzel, co-founder of Wetzel’s Pretzels, and his wife Elise.
