Brinker names new chief people officer

Rick Badgley joins Chili’s parent from Toms

Brinker International Inc. has named Rick Badgley as its new chief people officer, the company said Thursday.

Badgley succeeds Tony Bridwell, who left the Dallas-based parent of the Chili’s Gill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy early this year.

Badgley most recently was vice president of talent management and retail for Toms, the shoe retailer. He oversaw human resources for the global enterprise as well as Toms brick and mortar strategy.

Prior to Toms, Badgley served as vice president of global staffing and learning for Starbucks Corp., where he led training, leadership development, recruitment technology, talent acquisition and workforce planning.

Wyman Roberts, Brinker’s CEO and president as well as Chili’s president, said in a statement: "I'm excited for Rick to join our team because I'm confident that his extensive experience will be instrumental in leading the strategic and purposeful thinking around our team member experience at Brinker."

Brinker as of March 23 had 1,647 restaurants, including 1,596 Chili's and 51 Maggiano’s.
