Logan's Roadhouse names Mickey Mills COO

Steakhouse operator creates new position to ‘drive business forward’

Logan’s Roadhouse Inc. has named former O’Charley’s Inc. president Mickey Mills chief operating officer, the company said Friday.

Mills will fill the newly created position at the Nashville, Tenn.-based steakhouse operator. A company spokesman said CEO Sam Borgese thought it was important to have a COO help drive the business forward.

“We know Mickey will make significant contributions that will benefit our team and our guests as well,” Borgese said in a statement.

Mills is a Minnesota native who began working at a restaurant when she was 15 years old. She spent 17 years working up the ranks at the Italian chain Buca di Beppo. By 2005, she had risen to the job of senior vice president of operations.

In 2010, she took a position with Nashville, Tenn.-based O’Charley’s as vice president of operations, and was named the casual-dining brand’s president in February 2013.

Mills is Logan’s second new executive in just over a month. Borgese, formerly CEO at Max Brenner International, was named chief executive in October, after Logan’s previous chief executive, Mike Andres, left to become president of McDonald’s USA.

Logan’s Roadhouse is a 260-unit casual-dining chain controlled by New York-based private-equity firm Kelso & Company. The company recently filed a notice that it had to delay filing its annual report for its fiscal year ending Aug. 3. But in the quarter ended April 27, the company reported revenue of $169 million, falling 3.3 percent from the period a year before. It also reported a net loss of $1.7 million.
