Pizza Inn names new CFO

Timothy Mullany succeeds Jerome Trojan at the company

Pizza Inn Holdings Inc. has named Timothy Mullany chief financial officer effective May 5, the company said Wednesday.

Mullany will succeed Jerome Trojan, who left The Colony, Texas-based pizza operator last June. Pizza Inn also owns and franchises the fast-casual Pie Five Pizza Co. brand.

“I have no doubt that Pie Five will be the next great success story in the fast-casual space and that Pizza Inn will remain a popular destination for pizza lovers,” Mullany said in prepared remarks.

Mullany most recently was CFO of Restaurants Unlimited Inc., the Seattle-based parent to more than 20 full-service and fast-casual brands, including Kincaid’s, Palomino and Henry’s Tavern.

Randy Gier, Pizza Inn’s chief executive, said in a statement that Mullany “will be an integral member of our senior management team, with responsibilities extending beyond those of a traditional CFO.

“Tim’s experience in a multi-branded company, where he balanced the needs of a strong legacy brand and an emerging high-growth brand, is directly relevant to the opportunities here,” Gier said.

Before joining Restaurants Unlimited, Mullany served as chief financial officer at Denver-based Smashburger and its parent company, Consumer Capital Partners.

Pizza Inn owns and franchises more than 275 restaurants.
