Todd Brighton, senior vice president and chief development officer at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc., plans to step down from his position in July, according to the company.

Brighton, who joined the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based casual-dining operator in April 2001, did not publicly disclose the reason for his departure. However, Red Robin said the resignation is not related to any disagreement with the company’s accounting, operating policies or practices.

The company noted that Brighton would provide some services to the company for a transition period of six months or more under a consulting agreement.

Brighton first joined Red Robin as vice president of development. He was appointed senior vice president and chief development officer in August 2005.

Before joining Red Robin, Brighton worked for RTM Restaurant Group in Atlanta as director of real estate.
