The mobile payment function is powered by Austin, Texas-based Tabbedout and was developed by Carlson IT, Illume Mobile and Click Here Inc., a division of Friday’s ad agency, The Richards Group of Dallas.
Friday’s "My Friday's Tab" is the first smartphone app from a casual-dining chain to let guests start a tab from their iPhone or Android, track it on the device and close it out without a waiter.
Customer sign up for the My Friday's Tab and enter a credit card number. From there, they are given a five-digit code, which they give to their server. The customer can then place their order on their phone, which tracks what they ordered and generates their tab.
My Friday's Tab also allows customers to pay their check with the credit card that they previously entered when signing up, even assisting the customer when calculating the tip.
