Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. reported on Thursday a 36-percent increase in net income for its Sept. 28-ended third quarter, saying unit growth has continued into the western U.S. with strong results, despite a choppy environment and increasing competition. At the end of the quarter, the Canton, Mass.-based franchisor had nearly 10,800 Dunkin’ Donuts units and more than 7,100 Baskin-Robbins units worldwide, almost all of which are franchise operated.
