PLEASANTON Calif. Supermarket giant Safeway Inc. has opened a stand-alone fast-casual restaurant in Redwood City, Calif., called Citrine New World Bistro. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant is the first stand-alone restaurant for the 1,755-unit grocery chain. Spokesman Brian Dowling would not comment on the possibility of expanding the concept.
